Preschool Music Activities
Music education starts long before formal lessons. Preschoolers (ages 3-5) learn through play, movement, and sensory exploration. Our preschool resources are designed for little hands and short attention spans — big staves, bright colors, and activities that feel like games.
What Works for Preschoolers
- Jumbo staves (3-4 per page): Fine motor skills are still developing — give them space to draw big, imperfect notes
- Tracing before writing: Start with dotted-line clefs and notes they can trace over
- Coloring + music: Color the treble clef, then write a note — activities that blend art and music
- 3-line pre-staff: Before the full 5-line staff, use 3 lines to introduce high/middle/low concepts
